Helen Reisler

As a dedicated Rotarian and a sharp-witted strategic public relations and human relations executive, Helen Reisler has served for several decades to help others. Early in her career, Ms. Reisler spent two decades teaching elementary school students in New York City. She then switched career gears and became an account executive at New York Yellow Pages and worked her way up through the years to become the vice president of administration and personnel and a director. In 1988, she assumed the role of manager of public relations and recruitment for the New York Yellow Pages/Mast Advertising and Publications, Inc. of Southwestern Bell Publications. Additionally, Ms. Reisler has been an adjunct lecturer at LIU and Manhattan Marymount College.

Ms. Reisler studied at New York University and received a Bachelor of Science in education. She followed this degree with a Master of Science in education and reading from Long Island University. Since the late 1980s, her work with Rotary International has reached people all over the world. She was inaugurated as the first female president of the Rotary Club of New York in July 2001. She was recognized on behalf of her work as the chair of community service, leading environmental projects. Her experience in advertising and landed her a co-chair position of the experimental Advertising Committee. In this responsibility, she secured extra income from outside advertisers.
